The Gryphon is a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion, the head and wings of an
eagle and an eagle's talons as its front feet. As the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts
and the eagle was the king of the birds, the Gryphon was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic
creature. The Gryphon was so thought of as king of the creatures.
Gryphons are known as guardians of treasures and priceless possessions.
In antiquity the Gryphon was a symbol of divine power and a guardian of the divine.
The JT7 has a belt drive system with a high inertia synchronous motor.
Structure was designed to be though and vibration absorbing at the same time. While upper and lower deck are machined from impregnated mass-coloured high density mdf, the sidewalls are made of multi-layer materials, a sandwich of nylon/aluminum/carbon so typical resonance of each of these is annihilated by the others.
The turntable has a built-in RIAA preamplifier, and has separate LINE/PHONO outputs. This way it can be used with or without a aftermarket phono stage.
The turntable is in a private collection. The M.V. acronym comes from the initials of the owner that this unit was specially designed and built for.
